About the role

Reporting to the Senior Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer and working closely with the Director of FP&A, the Director of Finance is responsible for general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable collection, banking, and cash management. The role also includes overseeing financial statement audits and various government audits.

What You’ll Own
General Accounting
  • Oversee financial statement preparation, consolidation, analysis of operations, and corporate financial planning.
  • Review and analyze monthly financial reports.
  • Analyze actual costs, budgets, and results compared to forecasts/plans.
  • Oversee intercompany transactions and their accounting in appropriate subsidiaries.
  • Manage audit and tax functions, coordinating with audit firms, tax advisors, and government agencies.
  • Perform projects or ad-hoc analysis as assigned by the CFO.
  • Supervise payroll, approve submissions, remittances, commissions, and year-end remittances.
  • Approve purchase orders and expense reports.
Accounts Payable
  • Manage the activities of the accounts payable team.
  • Provide instructions on weekly payments and approve them.
Collection
  • Review accounts receivable and make decisions to maximize collection.
  • Guide team members on sending payment reminders.
Cash Management
  • Prepare monthly cash flow forecasts and plan bank draws.
  • Prepare reports for bank draws and record interest hedges.
  • Manage transfers between subsidiary bank accounts.
ERP Management
  • Support finance team in ERP usage.
  • Ensure proper implementation and testing of system developments; establish policies and communicate with other departments.
M&A
  • Assist in due diligence processes for potential transactions.
  • Lead integration processes of acquisitions under the CFO's supervision.
What you bring
Experience
  • Over 15 years of experience in accounting, reporting, and management.
Education/Certification/Designation
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • CPA designation required.
Competencies
  • Strong team player with ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, entrepreneurial environment where quality, innovation, and quick decision-making are key.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and logical thinking.
  • Fluent in English; intermediate French required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience in technology companies preferred.
Technical Skills/Knowledge
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite.
  • Payroll experience preferred.
Working Conditions

The role offers a hybrid work environment (office and home-based) with a standard Monday to Friday schedule. The candidate must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure, and manage stress. All offers are contingent upon successful background checks.
