Job Description

  • Create and maintain an effective department organization chart, designed for flexibility and growth.
  • Prepare, execute, monitor, and update the department business plan regularly.
  • Monitor and improve key departmental productivity.
  • Review and support day-to-day quotations.
  • Support product with checking local charges and agreement quotes to minimize potential branch losses.
  • Have thorough knowledge of the Ocean Import product.
  • Plan and support huddles and monthly meetings to discuss market intelligence and delegate workloads within the team.
  • Attend weekly branch sales meetings and facilitate discussions on Ocean Import with market updates and trends.
  • Take an active role in transitioning new business and updates to existing business.
  • Be open to implementing new system changes and enhancements into your department.
  • Suggest system/process improvements.
  • Grow department revenue in line with district budget targets and management expectations.
  • Support BNP, AJAX, CLH, and internal financial reports to ensure accurate financial accounting.
  • Maintain positive relationships with the Trade Compliance Manager and support compliance efforts and trainings.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors (shipping lines, trucking companies, and others).
  • Conduct staff appraisals and one-on-one meetings timely, in line with the 3+1 Initiative.
  • Assist supervisor and key staff with goal setting and development monitoring.
