Responsibilities

  • Review Canadian and U.S. tax returns for :

expatriates on assignment abroad ;

  • individuals with international issues (non-residents, departure and arrival in the country) ;
  • US citizens living in Canada ;
  • Canadian residents who own rental real estate in the United States and / or have property in the United States ;
  • frequent business travellers to the United States.
  • Manage and review voluntary disclosure files, both Canadian and American ( Streamlined ) ;

Requests for certificate of compliance ;

  • U.S. estate and gift tax returns ;
  • Disclosure of foreign property (T1135, T1134) ;
  • Application for a certificate of coverage ;
  • Request for an identification number (ITN, ITIN).
  • Perform tax consultations with clients on various subjects ;
  • Communicate with clients to obtain missing information and answer their questions ;
  • Take care of representations to Canadian and American tax authorities ;
  • Perform tax research on various subjects.

Requirements

  • Fluency in French and English both orally and in writing ;
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft 365 suite ;
  • Knowledge of Global FX and Tax Prep software (an asset) ;
  • New manager or experienced manager ;
  • Bachelor's degree in administration or law (or other training relevant to the position).
  • Hours / week : 40 hours
  • Expected start date : As soon as possible
  • Commitment : Salaried - Permanent
