Intact Financial Corporation in Canada seeks a Unit Director, Commercial Claims to lead the independent adjuster team for major accounts and drive service excellence. You will shape business plans, manage operations, recruit and evaluate staff, and mentor technical skills.

• Minimum 5 years of management experience.
• Minimum 3 years as a claims expert handling commercial files.

Responsibilities

• Participate in developing and implementing business plans and manage operations to achieve key business objectives.
• Provide effective leadership, motivate staff and be responsible for hiring and performance evaluation.
• Oversee technical and professional skills of your team and develop solid development plans.
• Develop and implement management and organizational initiatives to support company strategies, including structural and process/tech improvements.
• Act as consultant on claims issues such as liability determination, policy interpretation, and settlement negotiations to resolve claims.
• Liaise with other claims experts on technical and administrative matters.
• Maintain respectful business relationships with vendors, service providers, independent adjusters, law firms and internal client groups.
• Collaborate with underwriting and brokers to optimize service offerings.

Salary range (but not limited to):

109,900 - 134,300

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

• Participer à l'élaboration et à la mise en œuvre des plans d'affaires et gérer les opérations pour atteindre les principaux objectifs commerciaux.
• Assurer un leadership efficace, motiver le personnel et être responsable de l'embauche des employés et de l'évaluation des performances.
• Assurer l'encadrement des compétences techniques et professionnelles de votre équipe et faciliter l'apprentissage continu en élaborant des plans de développement solides pour vos employés.
• Développer, recommander et mettre en œuvre des initiatives de gestion et d'organisation pour soutenir les stratégies de l'entreprise, y compris les changements de structure organisationnelle et les améliorations des processus/technologies.
• Agir en tant que consultant et conseiller sur les questions par rapport aux sinistres, telles que la détermination de la responsabilité, l'interprétation des polices et la négociation des règlements pour aider à résoudre les problèmes liés aux sinistres.
• Assurer la liaison avec d'autres experts en sinistres sur des questions techniques et administratives.
• Entretenir des relations d'affaires respectueuses avec les vendeurs, les fournisseurs de services, Les cabinets d'experts indépendants, les cabinets d'avocats et les groupes de clients internes.
• Travailler en binôme avec la souscription et les courtiers pour optimiser l’offre de services, afin de mieux répondre aux besoins des comptes importants et des dossiers commerciaux.

Ce que vous mettrez à profit :

• Diplôme collégial ou universitaire requis
• Minimum de 5 ans d’expérience en gestion;
• Minimum de 3 ans d’expérience comme expert(e) en sinistres, dans le traitement des dossiers commerciaux;
• Excellentes aptitudes à la communication et aux relations interpersonnelles avec le personnel de tous les niveaux
• Expérience avec l'encadrement et le perfectionnement du personnel
• Maîtrise d'une variété de logiciels PC
• Compétences avérées en matière de leadership
• Excellentes compétences en matière de service à la clientèle
• Connaissance des règlements nationaux sur l'assurance habitation
• Bilingue (français et anglais) Nécessité d’interagir sur une base régulière avec des collègues partout au pays
