Position Purpose:

Night Operations Assistant Store Managers (ASMs) are responsible for supervising Back End Operations (e.g., Receiving, RTV, and Freight). They work with the Fulfillment Team ASM to ensure the store is "Grand Opening Day Ready" daily by maintaining proper merchandising and operational efficiency. They play a crucial role in safety standards, store profitability, and associate development. Strong planning, problem-solving, and leadership skills are essential for success.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Recruit and interview applicants; recommend hiring decisions to the store manager.
  • Make recommendations on terminations, promotions, pay increases, and performance evaluations.
  • Communicate store objectives to associates.
  • Coach, train, and develop associates through informal and formal feedback.
  • Manage operational excellence in all Back End areas.
  • Ensure staffing schedules meet truck schedule demands.
  • Oversee receipt and delivery of merchandise, ensuring safety and efficiency.
  • Maintain the store's "Grand Opening Day Ready" status daily, including stock levels, freight, displays, and cleanliness.
  • Survey the area at shift start to plan and prioritize tasks, updating as needed.
  • Coordinate Receiving and Freight Teams for smooth operations.
  • Analyze reports, identify trends, and respond to minimize shrinkage.
  • Lead communication of sales, events, and promotions through Chalk Talk.
  • Assess and address training needs related to sales and customer service.
  • Know and communicate Home Depot programs and services.
  • Train staff on reports and KPIs.
  • Complete daily inspections and safety audits.
  • Manage hazardous materials procedures and ensure driver safety and DOT compliance.
  • Implement safety programs and store standards.
  • Develop strategies with the Store Manager to boost sales and profitability.
  • Lead associates and collaborate with peers to solve problems and plan for seasonal changes.
  • Verify deposits, markdowns, and deliveries.
  • Follow SOPs for opening and closing the store.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
    Experience/Knowledge Required:
    • Minimum 1 year in the current position and performance management code V2.
    • At least 2 years of management experience.
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
    • Computer literacy.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Team player with a strong work ethic, responsibility, and attention to detail.
