Job summary

A community support organization in the Greater Sudbury area is seeking full-time Direct Support Professionals to assist individuals with developmental disabilities in everyday life. Candidates will help ensure the individuals are supported in living fully within their communities. The role requires relevant educational qualifications, strong communication skills, and the ability to work across multiple locations. Overview

Direct Support Professional (DSP) employees work with people who experience developmental disabilities as they live in their homes and communities. This position assists people in their daily life, working with them and their connections to ensure that they can live fully in the community. Direct Support Professionals recognize people's rights to direct their life, understanding that each person has unique gifts and needs, and they support people to learn skills for their own growth and development.

Position details: 2 Full-Time Direct Support Professional Positions. Hourly rate: $24.68. Closing date: October 3, 2025. Approximate Start date: ASAP.

Skills Required
  • SSW, Mental Health and Addictions, Recreational therapist, DSW or CYW Diploma
  • Current/Valid G license and able to drive and take public transit
  • Candidates will be working across multiple sites all over the Greater Sudbury Area
  • Computer Skills: Windows, Word, Excel, Email, etc.
  • Bilingual in French and English Preferred

  • Full G License required

  • Supports to people who have a dual diagnosis

  • Supports to people with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, oppositional defiance disorder, and personality disorder
  • Able to remain positive in a sometimes negative environment
Ability Required
  • Current Safe Management
  • Current First Aid/CPR
  • Able to lift 35 lbs
  • Able to perform restraints
  • Able to be flexible in a rapidly changing environment

The successful candidate will be selected based on Article 12.03 of the UFCW Sudbury Bargaining Unit Collective Agreement.
