Heartland Mutual Insurance has an excellent opportunity in our Direct Sales Department for a Direct Sales Representative II.

What You Will Do
  • Respond to inbound and initiate outbound calls for home, auto, and commercial insurance quotes.
  • Conduct risk assessments and gather accurate information for quotes and renewals.
  • Manage policy renewals, cross-sell products, and request client referrals.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and recommend tailored coverage solutions.
  • Process policy changes, endorsements, and claims inquiries within binding authority.
  • Maintain detailed and organized client files, including multi-entity accounts.
  • Ensure accurate policy processing and participate in portfolio risk management.
  • Use valuation tools (RCT, Douglas Cost Guide, CoreLogic) for building assessments.
  • Support a superior customer experience by building strong client relationships.
  • Back-up of general office admin duties including mail, downloads, and supply tracking.
What You Will Bring
  • 3-5 years of P&C insurance experience, preferably in a sales function.
  • Must have a Province of Nova Scotia Insurance License or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire (assistance provided).
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.
  • Ability to work confidently on your own or collaborate with other teams as required.
  • Knowledge in Power Broker or other Industry Management Systems.
  • Able to multi-task.
  • Able to deal with difficult clients if required.
