Accountability Objective

Are you passionate about fostering connections and creating warm, welcoming environments through personalized dining experiences? Under the direction of the Dining Services Manager or designate, our Dining Services Attendants play a critical role in enriching the lives of our residents by providing high-quality service in the dining room during every meal. They also maintain cleanliness of dietary areas and equipment according to standards and regulations.

Background/Qualifications
  • Minimum of grade 12 education required.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar serving position preferred.
  • Understanding of food service and preparation is essential.
  • Valid regional safe food handler’s certificate required.
  • Valid alcohol serving certificate required.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Dependable, responsible, and capable of working well both independently and in a team.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in and adhere to quality improvement standards.
  • Serve meals to residents and guests in the dining room.
  • Follow dietary restrictions and meet residents’ personal preferences.
  • Set dining tables and clear dishes, utensils, etc.
  • Maintain cleanliness of dining and kitchen areas, including washing dishes and cleaning equipment.
  • Ensure temperature records and food samples are properly taken, labeled, and reported.
  • Use point of sale systems for meal transactions.
  • Portion and serve desserts, appetizers, and meals, including snacks.
  • Receive and store food supplies.
  • Assist in food preparation and assembly as needed.
  • Follow infection control protocols and participate in safety programs.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, guests, and staff, addressing concerns appropriately.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all policies, complete mandatory training, and participate in safety and emergency programs.
