Overview

Weekend Evening Dining Room Manager position posted on Indeed for Stevenson Place in Comox, BC. This is a part-time union position with regular salary increments; hours are Saturdays and Sundays 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm and all Stat Holidays 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm, with coverage as needed.

Responsibilities

• Respond immediately and appropriately to all resident emergencies
• Hold overall responsibility for staff, building safety and residents' well-being while on shift
• Oversee and participate in dining room service delivery for the evening meal in conjunction with kitchen staff and the Full Time Evening Manager
• Supervise meal service employees
• Monitor the well-being of all residents
• Monitor use of the Emergency Response System in the building while on shift
• Conduct regular security checks
• Assist with word processing and office routines
• Receive and secure financial and other paperwork from residents on behalf of the House Manager
• Host social programming as planned by the Full Time Evening Manager
• Acquire and maintain knowledge of building systems and procedures
• Develop and support a sense of community within the building
• Communicate regularly with the Full Time Evening Manager
• Assist with common area cleaning and laundry services
• Maintain resident and staff confidentiality
• Ensure dining room operation adheres to government regulations and Food Safe practices
• Perform all work within the standards and philosophy of Nova Pacific Care Inc which provides services for Stevenson Place

Qualifications

• Grade 12 graduate
• Dining Room management experience
• Current First Aid - Emergency FA Community Care or equivalent
• Working knowledge of computers and word processing
• Reliable; excellent communication skills
