A day in the life of a Dining Experience Specialist

You will be responsible for leading the smooth operation of all dining areas and the teams that serve those spaces creating premium dining experiences for all residents and guests. You pride yourself on raising the bar for service excellence by guiding the dining teams, ensuring safety and compliance, anticipating resident needs and ensuring every meal and special event is delivered with quality, consistency and care.

Your day begins by reviewing the schedule, menu, reservations, resident allergies, texture requirements & preferences and tours or special events planned for the day. You ensure both the independent and assisted living Dining Room is clean, organized and set to our premium standard, with table settings, service stations and ambiance prepared before residents and guests arrive.

Before meal service begins, you lead pre-service with the dining team to review the menu, daily features, service expectations, resident needs and relevant ingredient or dietary information. You assign service areas, confirm that the team is prepared and reinforce the details required to provide personalized “5 Star” service.

During meal service, you remain visible and engaged in all dining areas including the AL DR, welcoming residents and guests, supervising the flow of service and supporting team members as needs arise. You monitor service timing, presentation and the overall dining experience, responding to special requests and resolving concerns with sound judgment, professionalism and care.

Throughout the day, you collaborate with the Culinary and Wellness teams to support resident preferences and changing needs. You also coordinate the service of special events, ensuring set-up, staffing and execution are organized and that every detail reflects our premium hospitality standards.

As residents and guests complete their meals, you oversee clearing, cleaning and resetting the Dining Rooms while ensuring established procedures and sanitation standards are consistently followed. You confirm that the room and service areas are fully prepared for the next meal period or event.

At the end of service, you review the shift with the team, communicate follow-up items and ensure the Dining Room is left clean, stocked and ready. Through reliable leadership, self-motivation and attention to detail, you help create memorable dining experiences that residents and guests can look forward to every day.

Between services you review staffing, training, payroll and upcoming events, as well as ensuring the Service Teams are successful in completing their tasks as well as breaks and training.
