Basetwo is a Toronto-based AI-native company transforming Chemical & Pharma manufacturing. We’re hiring a Product Engineer to work closely with specialty chemical manufacturing customers to deploy AI-powered solutions in real lab-scale and manufacturing environments.

This highly cross-functional role blends engineering expertise, customer engagement, data and simulation analysis, and technical problem-solving.

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of engineering experience in chemical manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of plant, pilot, and lab-scale chemical manufacturing processes.
• Passion and ability to use Python for simulation, modelling, and process analysis.
• Proven ability to understand and analyze process and lab/DoE data.
• Strong communication skills to work with customer stakeholders.
• Proactive problem-solver with track record of continuous improvement.
• Experience in cross‑functional technical environments.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and scale Basetwo solutions with chemical manufacturers across pilot, lab, and commercial environments.
• Lead onboarding and implementation of digital twin projects with customers.
• Build trusted relationships with process engineers, operators, and leadership.
• Identify opportunities for process scale-up/tech transfer and AI-driven insights.
• Translate customer pain points into actionable technical solutions and product feedback.
• Drive execution from discovery through deployment and measurable business impact.
• Analyze datasets to uncover bottlenecks and optimization opportunities.
• Develop simulations, models, and workflows using Python and Basetwo.
• Work with historians to contextualize manufacturing data.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and ML teams to improve platform capabilities.
• Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Support root-cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
