The Lead IT Planner is a senior technical leadership role for the Solution Delivery team that represents technology for major lines of business areas across multiple entities to support business initiatives and corporate objectives. The focus of this role is to facilitate the strategic planning, evaluation, design and evolution of software solutions within the assigned business areas, and to provide business and technical oversight to ensure these solutions meet client and company expectations, as well as fit within and integrate with defined Enterprise Architectural standards and direction.

How you will create impact:
  • Act as technology prime for the assigned lines of business leadership and participate in capability modeling, road-mapping and planning process.
  • Analyze business, technology and market trends in the assigned business area and determine their potential impact on the business.
  • Storing and forming business ideas or problems into a solution recommendation by cross collaborating across various business and enterprise areas.
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with business owners, acting as primary point of contact with business clients and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Translating strategic requirements into a usable business architecture, which will then be used to guide solution development and achieve consistency.
  • Providing senior-level consultation and support to the technology delivery teams on various tasks related to application integrations or systems development.
  • Influence and raise awareness to the overall enterprise IT direction and support the line of business’ ability to leverage this direction.
  • Recommend and drive adoption of advanced AI-driven solutions to transform insurance operations and bridges business objectives with technical innovation, ensuring AI adoption is ethical, scalable, and compliant with regulatory standards.
To join our team:
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive IT industry experience supporting application solution architectures on large initiatives from a business perspective.
  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proven experience in multiple disciplines related to the delivery of complex enterprise applications, such as conceptual architecture, application architecture, application development, system integration, development methodologies, testing, and deployment.
  • Good understanding of AI strategies, AI governance framework and ethical AI adoption.
  • Must be TOGAF certified or willing to obtain the certification

Expected salary/hourly range $91,058 - $141,000+

The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Co-operators in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.

Employees may also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn additional compensation tied to individual and/or business performance, or other business metrics.
