We are seeking a Digital Solutions Architect to play a crucial role in delivering a new iLottery platform and advancing WCLC’s digital landscape.

The Role

The Western Canada Lottery Corporation (WCLC) is looking to add a Digital Solutions Architect to our IT Architecture team.

We’re looking for someone who can…

• Provide technical leadership for implementing long-term digital solutions aligned with WCLC’s strategic goals.
• Define and document scalable, secure digital architectures tailored to WCLC’s needs, including business, infrastructure, application, security, data, and service architectures.
• Create models depicting current, future, and transitional solution states.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on engineering requirements and security controls.
• Support end-to-end traceability across architecture and design models with team members.
• Prepare technology options and analysis to meet business needs.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to foster innovation.
• Mentor and guide others on solution architectures and IT technologies, focusing on digital solutions.
• Ensure technical integrity throughout solution lifecycle stages.
• Support RFI/RFP development and evaluate Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for business cases.
• Develop strategies, roadmaps, and patterns supporting WCLC’s digital journey.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of architecture practices.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in a computer-related field or equivalent experience.
• At least 10 years in IT and 5 years with enterprise-level solutions.
• Proven experience as a Solutions or Digital Architect, especially in digital transformation projects.
• Strong knowledge of digital technologies like Cloud, APIs, and data management.
• Leadership experience, capable of working independently and in teams.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Understanding of software development methodologies and lifecycle.
• Experience with agile and DevSecOps practices.
• Experience creating solution models and technical documentation.
• Familiarity with IT architectural frameworks (TOGAF, COBIT, Zachman, SABSA).
• Experience with Archimate and business analysis is a plus.
• Knowledge of the Lottery and Gaming industry is an asset.
