Services Engineering is a key function of Services NAM (Americas). The function provides engineering expertise and technical solutions to the various Business Units (BU) of Services. We support Operations and Maintenance (O&M) sites, as well as lead the design efforts for Asset Life Management (Modernizations, upgrades, overhauls of rail vehicles) and support the Parts Obsolescence BU. We provide engineering support to all products maintained by Alstom that operate in the North American market (automated people movers, light rail vehicles, commuters, metros, locomotives…), as well as several of the infrastructure components (guideways, stations, depots, electrification and power distribution…). We are 160 professionals, located in 17 different sites across the continent.

Alstom has an opening for a Digital Service Specialist. The position is posted for our Saint-Bruno, Quebec, Canada site. In Alstom Services, our focus is to provide excellence in customer support and develop innovative mobility solutions.

Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Work with Digital Solutions engineering to support, deploy, configure and commission digital solution hardware and software components to the projects
  • Provide technical support to the O&M sites digital solution deployment
  • Manage deployment of HealthHub solutions on RS, Wayside equipment and any other equipment uin use in an O&M project.
  • Maintain dashboards, KPIs and other means of monitoring fleet digital solution deployment
  • Become subject matter experts in prognostics (predictive maintenance), data analytics (trends, correlations across multiple sites and products), Condition Based Maintenance (CBM), and remote telematic sensors (Motes, Netbox, Alphabox, LoRA…) installation and deployment
  • Program alerts and data mining algorithms using Alstom digital tools such as Healthub and Orbiflo
  • Support Rolling Stock in the design and validation of the end to end process (data acquisition, model implementation, algorithm implementation and trigger of the alert, impact on the maintenance service)
  • Support project in development phase for digital tool selection align with spec requirement
  • Coordinate and deliver digital solution of RS, wayside and other equipment for operations and maintenance
  • Provide data supporting the optimization of the fleet maintenance regime
Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering (rail, electronics or software engineering preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in railway, Data analysis or embedded CBM automation data monitoring industry
  • Experience in functional vehicle system engineering and/or experience in train/vehicle control and communication system
  • High interrest and Knowledge on CBM digital monitoring tools and Data analysis
  • Project technical coordination experience
  • Candidate must speak English and French
  • High degree of self-motivation
  • Ability to work independently as well as to drive internal/external resources
  • Problem solving attitude: the candidate has to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Strong understanding of railway vehicle and wayside systems and subsystems
  • Software technical background desirable
  • Proven ability to influence, negotiate and build effective relationships across divisions and organisations
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Candidate must be versatile, very autonomous, with hands-on experience, comfortable working in unclear and ill-defined environments, resourceful to find information
