Job summary

ePac, LLC is seeking a Press Operator to efficiently operate and maintain HP Indigo 200K/25K presses, ensuring top quality and uptime. You will calibrate colors, verify job specs, and support lamination and downstream departments.

The role involves daily maintenance, data entry into NAV, and collaboration with Prepress, Converting, and HP Technical teams. Experience with digital printing and mechanical aptitude is required.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of digital printing experience; HP Indigo presses preferred.
• Basic math ability and the ability to read a ruler.
• Computer literacy and basic mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Sets up the press to maximize uptime and loads material.
• Calibrates color for consistent print quality.
• Verifies job specs from the ticket before printing.
• Monitors print quality during production.
• Performs daily and weekly maintenance; notifies Lead Press Operator for repairs.
• Opens service calls with HP Technical Team as needed.
• Inputs production, consumption, and waste data into Microsoft NAV.
• Feeds printed rolls to the lamination department.
• Keeps the pressroom clean and organized.
• Coordinates with Prepress and Converting departments as necessary.
• Supports pouch, slitting, and lamination processes as needed.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Press Operator efficiently operates, calibrates and maintains an Indigo HP 200K & HP 25K to ensure excellent quality, machine uptime and that customer expectations are exceeded.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Efficiently sets up machine to maximize uptime & loads rolls of material onto press
• Regularly calibrates press via color calibration to ensure excellent print quality
• Confirms job specifications based on job ticket prior to printing
• Monitors print quality while machine is in production
• Performs daily and weekly maintenance on press; Notifies Lead Press Operator when equipment needs repair
• Opens service calls with HP Technical Team as necessary
• Inputs production, consumption, and waste data into Microsoft NAV (ERP)

• Supplies printed rolls of film (PE, BOPP, PET etc.) to the lamination department.
• Responsible for machine upkeep, cleanliness and maintenance with Lead Operator or HP Technical Support team’s assistance.
• Communicates with Prepress and Converting department when necessary
• Support other parts of the operations including pouch assistant, slitting, and lamination, if needed
• Keeps pressroom clean and organized

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

• 1+ years of working knowledge in digital printing - HP Indigo presses (HP 20000 & 25000 preferred)
• Simple mathematical ability for reports required - Ability to read a ruler
• Computer literacy; Mechanical skills
