Job description

Northern College is seeking a Digital Media Strategist in our Marketing, Communications, and External Relations department. The successful candidate will have excellent communication, multi-tasking, and time management skills with the ability to work in a team and effectively engage and connect with others on Campus, in the community, and online. Experience using Customer Resource Management software (i.e. Salesforce) is considered an asset. Knowledge of AODA standards and compliancy is an asset.

Reporting to the Director Marketing, Communications and External Relations, the successful candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, development, implementation and monitoring of content and communications for use in digital spaces.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Collaborate with the Marketing Team to create content to feature College’s programs, campus services, student life, and community partnerships to attract and retain students and partners of the College through engaging, creative, and data-driven promotional material;
  • Develop outreach strategies that cross-promote programs to students and the broader community and oversee story development for digital campaigns. Authenticating and verifying content to make sure that it is consistent with brand identity guidelines;
  • Create and publish/distribute content for digital media, social media posts, digital ads, video promotions, email communications and other digital communication channels; and
  • Develop graphic design elements, photography, video, written copy, templates, and other creative assets for use on digital media channels.

What You Will Need To Be Considered

  • Two-year diploma in Marketing, Communications, Business, Public Relations, Journalism, or related/relevant field of study;
  • Minimum of two years of experience in developing integrated and data-driven digital marketing campaigns through self-serve digital ad platforms;
  • Knowledge of digital marketing best practices and techniques, including social media platforms, digital display ads, search ads, content marketing and email marketing;
  • Experience creating content for digital and social media, optimizing campaigns, monitoring performance/engagement and analyzing data/metrics; and
  • Intermediate to advanced experience in graphic design including use of Adobe Creative Suite, (Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere).
