Job description

Position: Digital Marketing Student (Product)

Number of Position(s): 1

Duration: 4 Months with a preference for 8 Months

Date: September – December 2025

Location: Hybrid in Ottawa, Canada

EDUCATIONAL RECOMMENDATIONS

Currently a candidate for a Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical/Computer Engineering-related program at an accredited Canadian university. Education in both technical and marketing/communications disciplines is advantageous.

Preference is given to enrollment in a Marketing, Communications, or Business-related program at an accredited Canadian college or university.

Qualifications:

  1. Well organized, able to multitask and work with cross-functional teams and subjects simultaneously
  2. Creative with strong written, communication, and presentation skills
  3. Strong attention to detail
  4. Understanding of telecommunication network infrastructure, network automation, and network security (Layer 3 to Layer 0 is considered an asset)
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 – Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, Outlook

Additional Skills (Nice to have):

  • Understanding of Optical Networking (WDM, ROADMs, OTN, etc.)
  • Understanding of Security protocols (such as IPSec, MACSec, or OTNSec)
  • Understanding of network management protocols and interfaces (e.g., NETCONF/YANG, gRPC)

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain online activity dashboard and present status at weekly marketing meetings to keep stakeholders informed of participation goals for each activity
  • Collaborate with program, campaign, and product marketing teams to draft posts and monitor social media presence on LinkedIn and X
  • Audit and update web pages to ensure marketing content is current and accessible for sales teams and customers
  • Project manage product collateral, photo shoots, demo videos, and event activities
  • Research published articles on technical topics to support the development of white papers, application notes, datasheets, and blogs
  • Review and compare product offerings and marketing messages to identify key differentiators
