About This Position
We are seeking a talented and experienced Digital Marketing Strategist to join our Marketing and Communications team in University Advancement. Reporting to the Strategic Marketing Lead, the ideal candidate will be responsible for driving the strategy, setup and execution of digital campaigns across various platforms, including social media, paid search, and display advertising. Additionally, they will provide strategic direction for our digital brand and reputation strategy, collaborating closely with internal stakeholders to ensure effective campaign execution and reporting.

Responsibilities
Digital Marketing Strategy
- Understand the scope and intention of MRU's Digital Brand and Reputation Strategy for planning its long-term execution.
- Create digital marketing plans for both planned and impromptu projects.
- Oversee digital marketing activities and trends, making proactive technology decisions on marketing software and platforms.
- Provide strategy direction and input for departmental campaign execution in collaboration with internal teams.
Setup and Execution of Digital Campaigns- Coordinate and deliver the execution of campaigns across platforms including but not limited to Meta, Google, TikTok, defining landing page requirements and CTAs.
- Set up tracking URLs, call tracking numbers, and Tags/Triggers/Variables for accurate and comprehensive campaign reporting.
- Automate campaign workflow creation and management, understanding platform asset sizes, requirements, and policies.
Reporting- Use Google Analytics and platform reporting tools to create campaign wrap-up reports.
- Create, send, and report on email marketing campaigns.
Team Support- Support the needs of other team members, providing mentoring in digital marketing knowledge.
- Collaborate with the Communications team to ensure coordinated messaging in paid and organic placements.
- Assist in crisis communications during emergencies and perform ongoing digital marketing research and data analysis.
Qualifications- Tech-focused individuals with upwards of five years of experience working with digital advertising platforms are preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent in Marketing, Business, Data Science, or Communications.
- Google and Meta advertising certification.
- Data analytics training.
- Experience working in a marketing client relationship and project team.
- Experience with digital advertising platforms such as Meta Business and Google Ads.
- Experience with MailChimp, Zapier, Google Tag Manager, TikTok and other relevant digital marketing tools.
- Experience working in post-secondary, non-profit, or public organizations is an asset.
Salary: $70,841 - $89,646 per annum
