Position Summary

The Digital Marketing Specialist plays a key role in advancing Dixon Hall’s digital presence and storytelling. This role is responsible for content production and strategy, managing organizational newsletters, supporting website management, and using digital analytics to inform decision-making. The Specialist also leads digital event coverage, supports the development of an influencer strategy, and manages the organization’s content calendar. Working closely with teams across the organization, this role ensures Dixon Hall’s impact is communicated clearly, consistently, and effectively across digital platforms.

Duties and Responsibilities

Content Production, Planning & Strategy

  • Develop, produce, and manage high-quality digital content for web, email, social media, and campaigns
  • Create and maintain an organization-wide content calendar aligned with program priorities, campaigns, events, and fundraising goals
  • Demonstrated graphic design skills with the ability to create compelling visual marketing assets, with familiarity using tools such as Canva, CapCut, and Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Ensure all digital content reflects Dixon Hall’s brand, accessibility standards, and values
  • Translate program and impact information into engaging, audience-friendly digital content

Event Coverage & Storytelling

  • Lead digital coverage of Dixon Hall events, including live and post-event content (social media, photography/video coordination, blogs, and newsletters)
  • Work with internal teams to plan digital storytelling before, during, and after events to maximize reach and engagement
  • Capture and curate content that highlights community impact, partners, and funders

Newsletter & Email Marketing

  • Plan, produce, and manage organizational newsletters and targeted email campaigns
  • Oversee list management, segmentation, and scheduling to support engagement and fundraising objectives
  • Monitor and optimize email performance based on analytics and audience insights

Digital Strategy, Influencer Engagement & Analytics

  • Support the development and execution of Dixon Hall’s digital marketing strategy
  • Contribute to building and managing an influencer and community ambassador strategy to expand reach and awareness
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with aligned influencers, partners, and community voices
  • Track and analyze performance across digital channels using tools such as Google Analytics, social media insights, and email platforms
  • Prepare reports and insights to inform content and campaign optimization

Website Management

  • Manage day-to-day website updates, including content edits, landing pages, and campaign integrations
  • Work with internal teams and external vendors to ensure the website remains current, accessible, and user-friendly
  • Support SEO and content optimization best practices

Fundraising & Philanthropy Support

  • Partner closely with the Department of Philanthropy to advance Dixon Hall’s fundraising priorities through integrated digital strategies, campaigns, and donor engagement initiatives
  • Create compelling fundraising content for web, email, social media, and paid/organic campaigns that clearly communicate impact and inspire giving
  • Use analytics and performance insights to inform fundraising content optimization, testing, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure all fundraising-related digital content aligns with Dixon Hall’s brand, values, accessibility standards, and donor-centered best practices
Qualifications
  • University degree or College Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or University degree in other technical field equivalent to practical experience
  • Preference given to a minimum of 3 years in digital marketing in the not-for-profit sector
  • A professional portfolio of digital marketing work, including metrics on how your work impacted the organization, with samples of social media posts and content development across several platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
  • Highly experienced in digital marketing and website development/optimization. Expert computer skills, particularly evaluation and research software and tools (MS Office Suite); working knowledge of Google Analytics, Tag Manager and/or other relevant tools
  • Demonstrable experience leading and managing SEO/SEM, marketing databases, email, social media and/or display advertising campaigns
  • Extensive experience with Google Ads campaigns; LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram Advertising
  • Highly experienced utilizing Google Workspace platform including Drive, Gmail, Google Meet, Docs, Sheets, Forms, and Slides
  • Advanced graphic design skills; working knowledge of web design and development, including content management systems
  • Advanced Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop skills; social media scheduling software such as Hootsuite
  • Familiarity with Content Management System (CMS)
  • Demonstrated success developing and maintaining effective working relationships with community organizations and major stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal English language communication skills with a strong ability to exchange knowledge; fluency in additional languages will be considered an asset
  • Must be qualified to work in Canada legally for the employer
  • Able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Screening check with a ‘Clear’ or satisfactory result that meets the operational requirements of the Agency
