Digital Editor, Media Creativity (French Services)

Position Title: Digital Editor, Media Creativity (French Services)

Status of Employment: Contractee Long-Term (Fixed Term)

Position Language Requirement: English, French

Your role: Radio-Canada is looking for a dynamic and versatile Digital Editor to join the Media Creativity team. You’ll play a pivotal role in integrating branded content and sponsorships across Radio-Canada’s digital platforms, as well as in supporting social media amplification campaigns. Reporting to the Manager, Project Management and Operations, Media Creativity, you’ll work closely with the cross-platform project management team and digital platforms teams for Radio-Canada.ca (Mordu, ICI TOU.TV, RC OHdio).

Key tasks – Content Management:

  • Integrate branded content, contests and sponsorship-related visuals into in-house content management systems (Scoop, Picto, etc.) and external platforms (YouTube, etc.).
  • Manage the online publishing and promotion of various content formats, including text, logos, photos and audio/video files, according to strict timelines.
  • Contribute to content creation by writing engaging advertising headlines, hooks, short introductions, series descriptions and episode summaries.
  • Produce basic graphic designs for branded content and internal communications, such as the departmental newsletter.
  • Adapt and format visual assets for diverse content types, including resizing logos to platform-specific technical requirements and cropping visuals to required dimensions.

Key tasks – Social Media Support:

  • Craft compelling copy for social media posts across various platforms to promote branded content and advertiser partnerships with shows.
  • Create basic graphic designs and crop visuals for social media publications.
  • Perform basic video editing for social media clips in line with current standards.
  • Caption video content for social media posts.
  • Monitor campaign-related social media pages and manage community engagement, including responding to comments.
  • Co-ordinate approvals and source materials for amplified social media posts on digital platform accounts.

Your profile:

Qualifications:

  • University degree in a related field (communications, marketing, journalism or equivalent)
  • Three (3) or more years of related experience

Desirable skills:

  • Knowledge of and interest in the media industry
  • Knowledge of Radio-Canada programming
  • Relevant experience in digital content management
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and best practices
  • Ability to quickly become proficient in software relevant to your job focus (in-house CMS and video processing tools)
  • Basic graphic design skills (layout, image formatting, etc.)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, diligence and attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt and prioritize effectively
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team
  • Ability to handle stress and pressure during busy periods
  • Bilingualism (English and French)
  • Knowledge of the advertising industry

  • Practical test related to the position
  • Interview
