CadMakers Inc. in Burnaby, BC is seeking a Digital Construction Specialist to lead VDC reviews, build 3D models for coordination, and deliver constructability insights.

You will work with Revit, CATIA, and cmCore cmBuilder.io to support large AEC projects, collaborating in meetings and maintaining the Digital Twin model. The role supports hybrid work after an initial 3‑month period, with a focus on accuracy, proactive problem solving, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is asset; all engineering/construction backgrounds encouraged.
• Strong knowledge of CAD software including Revit, CATIA, SolidWorks, Siemens NX for 3D modeling and coordination.
• Excellent communicator and team player with a proactive attitude and a detail‑oriented, thorough approach.

Responsibilities

• Perform Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) reviews by studying documentation and integrating disciplines into a unified 3D model.
• Create 3D models for coordination (structural and mechanical) and provide constructability feedback.
• Generate detailed drawings linked to the Digital Twin model with accurate documentation.
• Collaborate in project meetings and deliver live insights and reports to clients and field personnel.
• Maintain and revise the 3D model across design and construction phases ensuring accuracy and version control.
• Identify process improvements to boost workflow efficiency and model accuracy.
• Support BIM coordination and drive digital project delivery through the team.

We’re looking for a Digital Construction Specialist to join our Digital Construction team, where you’ll have the opportunity to tackle real-world challenges in the construction industry, create complex 3D models, and integrate structural and mechanical systems to assess constructability. You will be working extensively in Revit and/or CATIA and our internally-developed cmCore products (for example, cmBuilder.io) to deliver these large Architectural, Engineering & Construction (AEC) projects.

About the Role

• Conduct Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) Reviews: Perform virtual design and construction studies of construction documentation (2D drawings and specifications) for all building elements (e.g. architectural, civil, structural, mechanical & electrical), integrating all disciplines into a unified 3D parametric model
• Build 3D Models for Coordination: Create structural (concrete, wood‑frame, mass timber and steel systems) and/or mechanical (plumbing, HVAC, electrical and fire protection) 3D models for coordination and review
• Deliver Constructability Insights: Create virtual RFI client reports to outline issues or challenges and offer actionable constructability feedback
• Collaborate in Project Meetings: Participate and support project coordination meetings and deliver live insights & reports to customers and construction personnel
• Maintain & Revise the 3D Model: Manage updates to the 3D model throughout all phases of design and construction, ensuring accuracy and version control
• Generate Detailed Drawing Sets: Generate construction detailing packages directly linked to the Digital Twin model, ensuring precision and consistency across documentation.
• Optimize Processes: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance workflow efficiency, model accuracy, and project outcomes

• Strong knowledge and experienced skillset in at least one of the following CAD softwares:
  • Revit
  • A parametric CAD software: CATIA, SolidWorks, Siemens NX, or Other
• Strong communicator who values clarity and collaboration

• Detail‑oriented and thorough in execution
• Passion for learning, motivated by continuous learning and improvement

Nice-To-Haves (but not Requireds)

• Strong knowledge and experienced skillet in more than one of the above CAD softwares
• Knowledge of a BIM coordination platform: Revizto, Autodesk Forma or Navisworks
• Understanding of BIM execution planning and digital project delivery methodologies
• Construction industry knowledge

This is a great opportunity for someone beginning their career or with a few years of experience in construction. A bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering would be an asset, but all engineering and/or construction backgrounds are encouraged to apply!

• $60,000 - $80,000 CAD yearly salary (commensurate with relevant experience)
