Job description

Cella by Randstad Digital is partnering with a prominent Canadian corporate client to recruit a forward-thinking Digital Communications Specialist. In this hybrid role based in Calgary, Alberta (3 days per week on-site at corporate headquarters), you will champion the business and narrative transformation of a large-scale enterprise web ecosystem undergoing platform modernization. This is not a technical programming or infrastructure role. Instead, you will act as the key strategic connector between corporate communications, executive storytelling, and technical agency execution. You will guide content architecture, optimize internal publishing workflows, and ensure the modernized digital platform effectively advances corporate reputation while delivering a seamless user experience.

Advantages
  • Strategic Influence: Help direct the future state of a high-profile corporate digital presence from discovery through launch and enterprise-wide adoption.
  • Modern Digital Architecture: Gain valuable hands‑on experience guiding content workflows and authoring experiences within next-generation, AI-enabled enterprise content platforms.
  • Collaborative Hybrid Culture: Work in a balanced hybrid model based out of modern corporate headquarters in downtown Calgary.
  • Cross‑Functional Visibility: Partner closely with executive communications leaders, IT architects, digital governance groups, and external agency teams.
Responsibilities
  • Transformation Project Leadership: Steer business priorities throughout the complete modernization lifecycle, keeping brand messaging, business objectives, and delivery milestones aligned.
  • Functional Requirements Definition: Translate overarching corporate communication strategies, public relations requirements, and marketing initiatives into clear functional specifications, user stories, and layout feedback for the external build agency.
  • External Agency Stewardship: Serve as the primary business liaison to the implementation agency, ensuring the delivery of modular, flexible components that empower internal communicators to build dynamic layouts independently.
  • Authoring UX Advocacy: Champion the internal editor experience by ensuring the back‑end authoring interface is intuitive, efficient, and streamlined for daily publishing.
  • Content Migration & Strategy: Guide the auditing, categorization, taxonomy structuring, and migration of legacy web content into the modern platform, upholding accessibility and corporate governance standards.
  • Testing & Quality Assurance: Lead business‑side user acceptance testing (UAT) to confirm that migrated content, page layouts, and interactive components meet communication standards, functional needs, and usability benchmarks.
  • Stakeholder Enablement & Training: Develop adoption pathways, documentation, and training to support internal teams in transitioning smoothly to the modern CMS and publishing toolsets.
  • Findability & Search Strategy: Partner across teams to implement structured data, search engine optimization (SEO), on‑site search improvements, and emerging AI‑search discovery practices.
Qualifications
  • Practical experience working with enterprise content management systems (such as Sitecore, Adobe Experience Manager, or equivalent enterprise platforms) from a business user, product owner, or communications perspective.
  • Proven participation in large‑scale website redesigns, digital transformations, or enterprise content migrations.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with IT teams and agency developers by translating business requirements into agile user stories, backlog items, and acceptance criteria.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with a track record of unifying divergent team requirements into a cohesive digital strategy.
  • Deep understanding of digital content hierarchy, corporate taxonomy, metadata structure, and user journey mapping.
  • Working knowledge of digital accessibility guidelines (WCAG) and inclusive design practices.
  • Familiarity with search optimization principles, digital analytics tools, and performance measurement methodologies.
  • Ability to work on‑site at the Calgary corporate office three days per week in a hybrid schedule.
Summary

This is a pivotal opportunity to help lead an enterprise digital communications transformation for an established corporate leader.
