Job description

Senior Digital Architect responsible for providing architectural expertise and strategic guidance to deliver efficient, user-centric digital services across government innovation and transformation projects.

Must Have skills

  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional agile product teams , providing architectural direction, and mentoring developers and technical leads (5 years)
  • Experience as a software architect , leading the design and delivery of enterprise-scale solutions using modern development stacks in complex organizational environments (5 years)
  • Experience working with teams that apply UX design, service design, design thinking, or human-centered design approaches (2 years)
  • Proven ability to define and communicate solution architecture for large-scale systems, including integrations, modernization strategies, and cloud-native design patterns (4 years)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and influence decision-making (5 years)
  • Experience applying secure development practices and managing identity and access using role-based or attribute-based access control and Zero Trust Architecture principles (4 years)
  • Experience designing and implementing modern web applications, including responsive, accessible front-end development using modern UI frameworks (5 years)
  • Experience designing and managing APIs, including RESTful services and system integrations (4 years)
  • Experience implementing CI / CD pipelines with automated testing, deployment, and observability (2 years)
  • Experience incrementally transforming existing legacy systems into modern digital services across multiple releases (5 years)
  • Experience with containerization, orchestration, and infrastructure-as-code practices for cloud or hybrid environments (2 years)

  • Experience working with both relational and non-relational databases, including schema design and performance optimization (5 years)
  • Experience working within public sector digital service frameworks or enterprise architecture standards (2 years)
  • Experience collaborating with other architects and cross-functional teams to build common services, reusable components, and APIs (4 years)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the solution architecture of digital services by developing overall architectural plans with a citizen-centred, agile approach; uncovering existing system context; conducting technical discovery; prototyping; and iteratively delivering and risk-assessing solution designs.
  • Guide implementation by facilitating frequent product deliveries, defining integration tactics and system boundaries, identifying and leveraging common components, reviewing and contributing to code, and providing coaching and mentorship.
  • Contribute to the architectural vision for a platform of user-centric services, and help develop principles, metrics, and standards for service quality and delivery.
  • Communicate architecture to both technical and non-technical audiences through documents, diagrams, and presentations.
  • Actively participate in the continuous improvement of the architecture practice, collaborating with stakeholders to update services and artifacts as needed.
