Job summary

Akkodis is seeking an experienced Application Architect to lead cloud architecture efforts and guide cross-functional teams in an enterprise IT setting of significant scale.

The role emphasizes architectural direction, TOGAF-aligned governance, and mentoring developers and technical leads while maintaining Azure Red Hat OpenShift clusters and designing platform solutions for a Government-scale environment.

Qualifications

• College or Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field of study.
• TOGAF certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional agile product teams, providing architectural direction and mentoring developers and technical leads.
• Architect, manage, and maintain Azure Red Hat OpenShift clusters.
• Identify and assess requirements across architecture domains (business, application, technology, data/information, security, privacy).
• Document application architectures in enterprise IT environments of comparable size and complexity to government-scale programs.
• Plan, design, implement and support platform solutions in large enterprise IT environments.

Job description

Client Location: Edmonton, AB(Onsite Opportunity): 7.25 hours/day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)

Engagement Model: Professional Services Engagement – B2B (Incorporated Entities Only)

This position is provisionally Onsite, requiring 7.25 hours per calendar day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (excluding breaks). Conditions may change based on organizational requirements and at the discretion of the Hiring Manager.

Must Have:

Education:

• College or Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field of study.
• Certification in The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF).

Work Experience

• Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional agile product teams, providing architectural direction, and mentoring developers and technical leads.
• Experience architecting, managing, and maintaining Azure Red Hat OpenShift clusters.
• Experience identifying and assessing requirements within multiple architecture domains e.g. business, application, technology, data/information, security, and privacy.
• Experience in documenting application architectures in an enterprise IT environment equivalent in size and complexity to the Government of Alberta.
• Experience in planning, designing, implementing and supporting platform solutions in an enterprise IT environment equivalent in size and complexity to the Government of Alberta.
• Experience providing leadership, planning, estimating, and presentations of ideas and solutions.

Nice to have:

• Collaborate with data architects, engineers and analysts to design and optimize cloud architecture and services.
• Experience in contributing or developing application architecture standards and guidelines.
• Experience working as an application architect designing or maintaining solutions that use enterprise Master Data Management (MDM) hub architecture registries.
• Experience working as an application architect developing a solution using amCharts charting framework in an enterprise IT environment equivalent in size and complexity to the Government of Alberta.
• Experience working as an application architect developing mobile solutions in an enterprise IT environment equivalent in size and complexity to the Government of Alberta.
• Experience working with Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) Top Ten Web Application Security Flaws.
