Your Opportunity:
This is an opportunity for a Dietitian I to join the Pediatric Community Rehabilitation (PCR) feeding team, on a temporary 18-month term, at the East Calgary Community Health Centre. This Dietitian I reports directly to the Nutrition Services Manager for Pediatrics in Calgary Zone. The Dietitian I - PCR is primarily responsible for direct nutrition care for infants and children with pediatric feeding disorders requiring community-based interdisciplinary care. Nutrition care includes assessment, consultation, and care planning for infants & children with oral intake disturbances, moderate nutrition risk, and potential growth disturbances. This role emphasizes patient- and family-centered care principles, excellent communication skills, critical thinking, conflict resolution, time management, and ongoing professional development. The dietitian should have a strong background in evidence-informed nutrition care, participate in zone and/or provincial committees, and contribute to research projects aligned with Provincial NS Child Health Strategy & Standards.
Description:
As a Dietitian I, you will provide nutrition expertise across various AHS facilities and community settings, aiming to improve health outcomes. Responsibilities include nutrition assessment, care plan development, implementation, evaluation, and public health nutrition education. You will also support students and healthcare professionals with evidence-based nutrition information.

Shift Pattern: Days, 7.75 hours, weekends off (Sat/Sun)
Benefits: Temporary P/T benefits
Qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Foods and Nutrition, accredited internship, registration eligibility with the College of Dietitians of Alberta, and minimum three years of pediatric clinical experience, especially with infants and children with developmental, neurological, and medical conditions affecting feeding. Preferred skills include advanced pediatric feeding disorder expertise, interdisciplinary team collaboration, and nutrition counseling skills.
