Whatever your lifestyle or interests, there’s something for you here. As a Dietitian I - Float within Nutrition Services you would report to the Manager, Nutrition Services, South Zone. This position offers a variety of experiences with clients in outpatients, rural acute care and long-term care. You would provide regular coverage one day a week in Taber and Milk River and provide float coverage in outpatient nutrition in Lethbridge and as needed in rural sites in southwest Alberta. You will be responsible for nutrition assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of nutrition care plans for adult and pediatric outpatients, acute care patients in rural hospitals, and long-term care. You may also facilitate a variety of group nutrition sessions, using nutrition counselling for behavior change as appropriate to achieve nutrition and health outcomes.
Description:
As a Dietitian I, you may provide nutrition expertise to patients (clients, residents) in various AHS facilities and community settings to achieve nutrition and health outcomes. You may be responsible for nutrition assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of nutrition care plans. You may plan and provide public health nutrition services and education programs to promote healthy living and disease prevention for clients/groups in facilities or community settings. Nutrition education is provided to students and other healthcare professionals to support delivery of evidence based nutrition information.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science with a major in Foods and Nutrition. Completion of an internship program or practicum training program accredited by the Dietitians of Canada. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Dietitians of Alberta (CDA).

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience of two years as a Dietitian in a health care setting. Knowledge and experience with nutrition counselling for behavior change. Experience with enteral nutrition. Demonstrated experience in group facilitation. Knowledge and experience with virtual health applications for client care (Zoom, MS Teams, teleconference).
