Job summary

Saskatchewan Health Authority invites a Dietitian to join the La Ronge Health Centre as a part-time temporary position (0.5 FTE). The role includes consultative, teaching and clinical nutrition duties with focus on hospital and regional care in the North East 1&2 area.

The candidate must be a Registered Dietitian with a BSc in Nutrition and Dietetics, plus a practicum, and a valid Class 5 driver's license. Strong interpersonal skills and diabetes expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• Two years minimum experience as a Registered Dietitian.
• Completion of Dietetic Practicum Program and BSc in Nutrition and Dietetics.
• Registered Dietitian with a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultative, counseling, teaching and education services to individuals and groups.
• Conduct clinical nutrition assessment and intervention and formulate care plans.
• Monitor and evaluate nutrition care plans for hospital and community settings.

Job Description: The Dietitian is responsible for providing consultative, counseling, teaching and education services to individuals, community groups, health professionals and other professional groups to improve and protect the nutritional status of the regional population. She/he is also responsible for clinical nutrition assessment and intervention including formulating, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating nutritional care plans for those in hospital and within North East 1&2.

Experience

• Minimum two (2) years' experience as a Registered Dietitian

Education

• Completion of an approved Dietetic Practicum Program
• Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics

Licenses

• Registered Dietitian (RD)
• Valid Class 5 driver's license

• Diabetes Education Section (DES)

Knowledge and Abilities

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Knowledge of acute care, neuro rehab, and community based health systems.
