As a Dietitian (Status: Full-Time; Effective Date: Immediately; Location: Sudbury), you will be responsible for providing dietetic and nutritional services to patients to optimize nutritional intake, promote health and well-being, and develop individualized food plans to meet specific needs.

Whether working in our office, community, or healthcare facility, you will play a key role in delivering connected, accessible, patient-centered care, supported by our collaborative team of over 9,000 healthcare professionals.

What will you do?

  • Respond to referrals from Care Coordinators to administer nutritional and dietetic services.
  • Assess patients to identify nutritional needs and set treatment goals.
  • Develop and oversee treatment and nutritional care programs, creating resources to meet dietary needs.
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
  • Educate and counsel patients, families, caregivers, and SDMs on nutritional conditions, concerns, and strategies.
  • Manage service delivery in collaboration with Care Coordinators, families, and other healthcare providers.
  • Connect patients with additional services and community resources.
  • Ensure patient preferences and values are respected while balancing available resources.

Accurately document assessments, goals, treatment plans, and interventions.

What must you have?

  • Registered Dietitian in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario (CDO).
  • Relevant experience in community or healthcare nutrition services.
  • Strong knowledge of dietetic practices, principles, and strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Understanding of other healthcare roles and therapies.
  • Knowledge of funding resources and community organizations.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation and professional standards.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage caseload efficiently.
  • Proficiency in documentation and reporting.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written, in English and French.
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
  • Mandatory COVID-19 vaccination proof prior to start date.

What would give you the edge?

  • Experience with diverse patient groups, wound care, post-op GI surgeries, motivational interviewing, diabetes, oncology, gut health, food insecurity, or chronic disease management.
  • Case management experience or recent community-based work.
  • Proficiency in French or another second language.
