Job summary

Extendicare is seeking a part-time Dietary Aide at Mapleview (Northern Ave.) in Sault Ste. Marie, ON. You will serve meals to residents, assist cooks with simple food prep, and maintain kitchen cleanliness while following policy and safety guidelines.

This role supports the York Home operations and requires a current Food Handler's Certificate and enrollment/completion of a Food Service Worker Program. The position offers part-time scheduling, day/evening hours, and opportunities for growth

Qualifications

• Successful completion and/or enrollment in a Food Service Worker Program meeting the Ontario Long-Term Care Homes Act requirements.
• Current Food Handler's Certificate.
• Previous dietary experience preferred in LTC (Long Term Care) Home 0-1 year(s).
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and read/write English.

Observes time limits for meal serving. Maintains foods at proper serving temperature.· Assists Cooks to clean and prepare such uncooked food as salads, vegetables, and fruits. Follow basic instructions in preparing such simple foods as breakfast items, basic desserts, and garnishes.· Clears plates and trays, loads, and operates dishwasher. Cleans pots, pans, and cooking utensils as per procedure.· Participates in proper storage and labeling of dietary supplies and food, including leftovers.· Adheres to established departmental policies, procedures regarding quality assurance, fire, safety, environment, and infection control.· Assemble nourishment carts. Stocks unit kitchenettes.· Participates in facility meetings as assigned.
