Job summary

Sienna Senior Living Oakwood Commons Long Term Care in Brantford is seeking a friendly Dietary Aide to support residents' meals and well-being in a new Campus of Care.

You will assist with food preparation and service, follow diets, and help create a warm, respectful dining environment. A Safe Food Handler’s certificate is preferred; Vulnerable Sector Check is required for Ontario applicants. Wage stated per collective agreement.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will be a welcomed member of the Retirement team, working in a fast-paced environment where you will make a meaningful difference in residents’ lives. As a Dietary Aide you will do meaningful work everyday ensuring a safe and clean environment for residents’. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.

How You’ll Succeed

• Food Preparation & Food Handling
• Assist with the preparation of meals, and serving meals
• Follow residents' diets and food preferences
• Take the menu orders from the residentsSet and clear tables in the dining rooms and ensure they are sanitized
• Ensure you are following proper food handling techniques

Who You Are

• Have a valid Safe Food Handler’s Certificate or willing to obtain
• You are committed to providing compassionate support that provides seniors to live their lives to the fullest
• You are detailed-oriented coupled with strong customer service skills enabling you to effectively communicate with residents and staff
• You may bring experience in food service from institutional, healthcare, restaurant, or hospitality
• While possessing a Food Service Worker Certificate would be excellent, it’s not a requirement
• All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check. Applicable to Ontario applicants.
