The DIETARY AIDE will support the Food & Nutrition Services department while working in a long-term care. The Dietary Aide is responsible for the overall care and satisfaction of each Resident and Guest during meal-times. This includes; preparing & portioning meals for resident dining-rooms, assisting Residents during meal-times, serving meals following therapeutic-diet orders and transporting dishes to / from the kitchen before and after meal times.

You will provide friendly, courteous and attentive service, and promote each Residents' independence by involving Residents in simple food-service tasks and decisions at meal-times.

Our ideal candidate possesses the following qualifications :

  • Completed or enrolled in an approved Food Service Worker program (required)
  • Previous food service experience in long-term care preferred
  • Proficient in food preparation and serving techniques
  • Motivated to provide high quality work & work in an efficient manner
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job. Including : Standing for prolonged periods of time, Push, pull, lift & carry up to 20lbs or 9kg (max)
  • Ability to accept & follow directions and follow company policies and procedures
  • Able to build & maintain good working relationships with residents & coworkers
