AgeCare is seeking a dedicated Dietary Aide to support residents' dietary needs and ensure meals are appealing in a welcoming setting. You will assist with setup, serving, and cleanup of meals, reporting to the Dietary Manager to deliver a pleasant dining experience.

Qualifications include a Food Handler’s Certificate, experience with seniors preferred, and enrollment or completion of a Food Service Worker Training Program. Salary: $23.80 per hour.

Qualifications

• Food Handler’s Certificate is required.
• Experience in food service, especially with seniors, preferred.
• Must be enrolled in Food Service Worker Training Program or have completed it.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
• Must be physically able to lift heavy items and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
• Assist in setup and preparation for service of beverages, salads, desserts, etc.
• Set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required.
• Assist with cleaning of dishware and cutlery after each seating.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining area as required.
• Assist with catering and participate in special occasions and theme events.

The Opportunity

AgeCare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the dietary needs of our residents, ensuring they receive appealing meals in a welcoming atmosphere.

As a Dietary Aide at AgeCare, reporting to the Director or Dietary Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring our residents enjoy a pleasant dining experience. You will assist with the setup, preparation, serving, and cleanup of all meal services.

What You Will Do

• Serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
• Assist in the set up and preparation for service of various items such as beverages, salads, desserts, etc.
• Set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required.
• Assist with cleaning of dishware, and cutlery after each seating as required.
• Assist with maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and dining area as required.
• Assist with catering, and actively participate in special occasions and theme events.
• Assist in the orientation and training of new dietary employees.
• Follow and comply with health and safety legislation and departmental safe job procedures.
• Comply with all provincial regulations and established department policies and procedures.

What You Bring

• Food Handler’s Certificate is required.
• Preference will be given to individuals with previous experience in the food service industry and working with seniors.
• Must have or be enrolled in Food Service Worker Training Program.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
• Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand/walk for the majority of shift.
• Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.
• Must be able to provide a current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check, including a Criminal Record Check, or be willing to obtain one.
