Job summary

Sienna Senior Living is seeking a Dietary Aide for a permanent part-time role in Scarborough, ON, working 17:00-21:00. You will support long-term care residents with meals, adhere to dietary plans, and help maintain a clean dining environment.

This position emphasizes compassionate, resident-centered care within a supportive team. Eligible candidates should have or be willing to obtain a Safe Food Handler’s Certificate, plus experience in healthcare or food service, and be legally eligible to

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Safe Food Handler’s Certificate or be willing to obtain
• Experience in food service from institutional, healthcare, restaurant, or hospitality
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
• Must pass Vulnerable Sector Check and/or Criminal Record Check applicable to the province
• Detail-oriented with strong communication with residents and staff

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of meals, and serving meals
• Follow residents' diets and food preferences
• Take the menu orders from the residents
• Set and clear tables in the dining rooms and ensure they are sanitized
• Ensure proper food handling techniques are followed

As aDietary Aideyou will do meaningful work everyday ensuring a safe and clean environment for residents’. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.

How You’ll Succeed

• Assist with the preparation of meals, and serving meals
• Follow residents' diets and food preferences
• Take the menu orders from the residents
• Set and clear tables in the dining rooms and ensure they are sanitized
• Ensure you are following proper food handling techniques

Who You Are

• Have a valid Safe Food Handler’s Certificate or willing to obtain
• You are committed to providing compassionate support that provides seniors to live their lives to the fullest
• You are detailed-oriented coupled with strong customer service skills enabling you to effectively communicate with residents and staff
• You may bring experiencein food servicefrom institutional, healthcare, restaurant, or hospitality
• While possessing a Food Service Worker Certificate would be excellent, it’s not a requirement
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
• You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and/or Criminal Record Check applicable to the appropriate province
