Job summary

Lake Country Lodge Community & Retirement Living in Lake Country, BC is seeking a part-time Dietary Aide to support residents in a long-term care setting. You will assist with meal prep and service, follow dietary plans, and help create a warm, respectful dining experience for seniors.

You’ll join a compassionate team at Sienna Senior Living, with a wage of $25.82/hour under the wage leveling agreement, benefits, and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Valid Safe Food Handler's Certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Compassionate care for seniors living in LTC.
• Detail-oriented with strong communication to residents and staff.
• Experience in food service from institutional, healthcare, restaurant or hospitality is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of meals and serving meals.
• Follow residents' diets and food preferences.
• Take the menu orders from the residents.
• Set and clear tables in the dining rooms and ensure they are sanitized.

What You'll Be Doing

You will be a welcomed member of the Long Term Care team, working in a fast-paced environment where you will make a meaningful difference in residents’ lives. As a Dietary Aide you will do meaningful work everyday ensuring a safe and clean environment for residents’. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.

How You'll Succeed

• Assist with the preparation of meals, and serving meals
• Follow residents' diets and food preferences
• Take the menu orders from the residents
• Set and clear tables in the dining rooms and ensure they are sanitized
• Ensure you are following proper food handling techniques

Who You Are

• Have a valid Safe Food Handler's Certificate or willing to obtain
• You are committed to providing compassionate support that provides seniors to live their lives to the fullest
• You are detailed-oriented coupled with strong customer service skills enabling you to effectively communicate with residents and staff
• You may bring experiencein food servicefrom institutional, healthcare, restaurant, or hospitality
• While possessing a Food Service Worker Certificate would be excellent, it's not a requirement
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
• You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and/or Criminal Record Check applicable to the appropriate province

Wage Leveling rate of pay $25.82 per hour until such time that wage leveling ends, then the pay rate will reflect the collective agreement pay rates
