Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Culinary Services or the Dietary Manager, the Dietary Aide supports meal setup, preparation, service, and cleanup in the Residence/Home.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve meals to residents and guests professionally and courteously.
  • Assist in setting up and preparing items like beverages, salads, desserts, etc.
  • Set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as needed.
  • Help clean dishware and cutlery after each seating.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas.
  • Assist with catering and participate in special events.
  • Help orient and train new dietary staff.
  • Follow health and safety laws and departmental procedures.
  • Comply with provincial regulations and department policies.
  • Respect Resident Rights & Responsibilities and promote them.
  • Attend in-service training and staff meetings.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement programs.
  • Work responsibly with vulnerable adults.
  • Uphold the organization’s values, ethics, and integrity as per Revera's Code of Conduct.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must have a Food Handler's Certificate.
  • Experience in food service and working with seniors is preferred.
  • Enrolled or willing to enroll in Food Service Worker Training Program.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Physically capable of lifting hot heavy items and standing/walking most of the shift.
  • Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
  • Must provide a current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check or be willing to obtain one.
