Job summary

Caressant Care Nursing and Retirement Homes Ltd. in Fergus, Ontario is seeking a part-time Food Service Worker to support our residents with nourishing meals in a respectful, patient-friendly kitchen environment.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of Food Service Worker Certificate and Food Handler Training Program.
  • Willing to accept verbal and/or written direction.
  • Able to cope with the physical and emotional demands of the position.
  • Geriatric, long-term care experience is beneficial.
  • Experience in long-term care food service is an asset, including texture-modified diets, therapeutic and production spreadsheets.
  • Good communication skills, able to read and write in the English language.
  • Punctual and reliable.

What You Bring…
  • Successful completion of Food Service Worker Certificate and Food Handler Training Program (or commitment to obtain within a specified period, as required under the Fixing Long Term Care Homes Act and its Regulations)
  • Must be willing to accept verbal and/or written direction
  • Able to cope with the physical and emotional demands of the position
  • Geriatric, long-term care experience is beneficial
  • Experience in long-term care food service is an asset, including texture-modified diets, therapeutic and production spreadsheets
  • Good communication skills, able to read and write in the English language

The starting rate of pay is $24.54 per hour, and the terms and conditions of employment are as set out in the Collective Agreement.
