Responsibilities
  • Serve food to residents according to individual diets and preferences.
  • Manage portion control of food items.
  • Follow safety precautions, report unsafe incidents, and ensure safe operation of equipment.
  • Deliver catering throughout the hospital and handle related tasks.
  • Maintain proper food temperatures and assist in food preparation and cleaning.
  • Participate in storage, labeling, and documentation of food and supplies, including HACCP procedures.
  • Assist with setup for catering events and other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
  • Completion or enrollment in a Food Service Worker Program meeting Ontario Long-Term Care Homes Act requirements.
  • Food Handlers Certification approved by Public Health Department.
  • Availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift moderate to heavy loads and stand for long periods.
  • Current (within 6 months) Vulnerable Position/Sector Screening (VPS).
  • Experience in a kitchen or food service setting.
