If so, then this is the role for you, offering tasks in an assortment of areas including the preparation, service and distribution of regular and special diets and the handling of food in accordance with sanitary regulations for patients, visitors and staff. The dietary aide regularly interacts with patients through tray delivery and removal to nursing stations and patient’s rooms, assists in the cafeteria building rapport with internal and external visitors, and completes catering duties and ware washing responsibilities as a valued member of the nutrition and environmental services team.

Responsibilities

Qualifications
  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in institutional or commercial food handling and food preparation preferred
  • Ability to work in accordance with safe food handling practices
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of WHMIS
  • Must be physically able to stand, reach, bend, and lift
  • Ability to perform routine tasks (including but not limited to pot washing, dishes, sweeping, mopping, cleaning, food prep)
  • Reliable attendance record
