Job summary

Aramark in Hamilton, Ontario is seeking a Dietary Aide/Food Service Worker to support meal services for residents in the Meadows LTC. The role includes serving meals, assisting with meal preparation, setting tables, delivering trays and maintaining cleanliness.

You will help train new staff and ensure health and safety standards are followed. Experience in food service and with seniors is preferred; a Food Handler certificate is required or you must apply.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Food Handler's Certificate or willing to apply.
• FSW Certificate or be enrolled in the FSW program is an asset.
• Preference for experience in food service and seniors.
• Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy items and stand/walk for most of the shift.
• Cooking experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Establish, extract, evaluate and document business needs for custom applications.
• Serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
• Assist in setup and preparation of beverages, salads, desserts, breakfasts, soups and lunches.
• Set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required.
• Assist with cleaning dishes and maintaining dining/kitchen cleanliness.
• Assist with catering and participate in events.
• Train and orient new dietary employees.
• Follow health and safety legislation and department procedures.
• Adhere to resident rights and attend staff meetings as needed.

The Dietary Worker provides patient support during meal services. Essential functions and responsibilities of the position may vary by Aramark location based on client requirements and business needs.

Adress : The Meadows LTc , 12 Tranquility avenue, ancaster Ontario L9G 5C2

Timings : Evening 3 hours shift ( 3:45pm to 6:45 pm)

Job Responsibilities

• To establish, extract, evaluate and document the needs of the business with regards to custom application development
• To serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner;
• To assist in the set up and preparation for service of various items such as beverages, salads, desserts, breakfast, soup and lunch preparation etc.
• To set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required;
• To assist with cleaning of dishware, cutlery at the conclusion of each seating as required
• To assist with maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen and dining area as required
• To assist with catering, and actively participate in special occasions and theme events
• To assist in the orientation and training of new dietary employees
• To follow and comply with health and safety legislation and departmental safe job procedures
• To comply with all provincial regulations and established department policies and procedures
• To be aware of the Resident Rights & Responsibilities and endeavour to respect and promote it
• To attend in-service training as required in order to better serve the needs of the residents
• To attend staff meetings as required to be aware of changes in Residence that have taken place

To complete all other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Preference will be given to individuals who have previous experience in the food service industry and working with seniors
• Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand/walk for majority of shift
• Cooking experience is an asset
