Responsibilities
  • Serve food to residents according to individual diets and preferences.
  • Manage portion control of food items.
  • Follow safety precautions, report unsafe incidents, and ensure safe operation of equipment.
  • Document temperatures of equipment and food, and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Deliver catering to various hospital locations and handle dishware.
  • Assist cooks with food preparation and cleaning tasks.
  • Participate in proper storage, labeling, and documentation of food and supplies.
  • Set up for catering events and fulfill special requests.
  • Adhere to policies regarding safety, infection control, and quality assurance.
  • Participate in meetings and training sessions as required.
Requirements
  • Completion or enrollment in a Food Service Worker Program complying with Ontario Long-Term Care Homes Act.
  • Food Handlers Certification approved by Public Health.
  • Availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift moderate to heavy loads and stand for long periods.
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Screening (within 6 months).
  • Experience in kitchen or food service setting preferred.
