Extendicare is seeking a part-time Dietary Aide for West Park Long Term Care in Toronto. You will assist with plating and serving meals, ensure proper serving temperatures, and maintain clean serving areas and equipment according to established procedures.

Responsibilities include observing dietary restrictions, assisting with basic food prep, and supporting infection control and safety policies. Candidates must be able to stand for long periods and lift moderately to heavy loads.

Before working at West Park Long Term Care, you must have a cleared and up to date (within the last 12 months) Vulnerable Sector Check, a Social Insurance Number and you must be double vaccinated for Covid 19. What you’ll be doing* Serves food to residents according to individual diets and preferences. Observes time limits for meal serving. Maintains foods at proper serving temperature.* Follow basic instructions in preparing such simple foods as breakfast items, basic desserts, and garnishes.* Clears plates and trays, loads, and operates dishwasher. Cleans pots, pans, and cooking utensils as per procedure.* Participates in proper storage and labeling of dietary supplies and food, including leftovers.* Adheres to established departmental policies, procedures regarding quality assurance, fire, safety, environment, and infection control.* Participates in facility meetings as assigned.
