JOB SUMMARY:

  • RE-THERM MEALS FOR RESIDENTS.
  • DELIVERS AND COLLECTS DISHES AND CUTLERY.
  • PREPARES DINING ROOM FOR MEAL SERVICE AS REQUIRED.
  • WASHES AND SANITIZES DISHES AND OTHER EQUIPMENT.
  • OPERATES FOOD SERVICE EQUIPMENT.
  • PERFORMS CLEANING DUTIES TO MAINTAIN DEPARTMENT STANDARDS.
  • OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • GRADE XII EDUCATION.
  • MUST SUCCESSFULLY PASS A PRE-HIRE SCREENING TEST.
  • A VALID FOOD HANDLERS CERTIFICATE.
  • A MINIMUM OF ONE YEAR WORK EXPERIENCE AS A DIETARY AIDE.
  • CURRENT CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK, VULNERABLE PERSONS AND ADULT ABUSE REGISTRY CHECK MUST BE PROVIDED.

SKILLS:

  • ABILITY TO WORK COOPERATIVELY IN A STRESSFUL ENVIRONMENT WITH EFFECTIVE TIME MANAGEMENT SKILLS.
  • ABILITY TO WORK AND FOLLOW SAFE WORK PROCEDURES.
  • DEMONSTRATED ABILITY TO WORK AS AN EFFECTIVE TEAM MEMBER WITH EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION SKILLS.

OTHER

  • Must have good performance and attendance record.

This position is subject to a Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search, an Adult Abuse Registry Check and a Child Abuse Registry Check. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred.

Interviewed candidates will be called upon to participate in a skills assessment written test.
