Job summary

AgeCare is seeking a dedicated Dietary Aide to join our team at AgeCare. You will assist with the setup, serving, and cleanup of meals for residents, ensuring a welcoming dining experience.

Reporting to the Director or Dietary Manager, you will help with meal service, tray delivery, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness while following health and safety guidelines. Experience with seniors is a plus.

Qualifications

• Food Handler's Certificate is required.
• Experience in food service and working with seniors preferred.
• Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy items and stand for the majority of shift.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals to residents and guests in a professional manner.
• Assist in setup and preparation for service of beverages, salads, desserts, etc.
• Set and clear dining tables; deliver tray service as required.
• Assist with cleaning of dishware and kitchen areas; maintain dining area cleanliness.
• Support catering and participate in specials/events.
• Assist in orientation and training of new dietary employees.

The Opportunity

AgeCare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the dietary needs of our residents, ensuring they receive appealing meals in a welcoming atmosphere.

As a Dietary Aide at AgeCare, reporting to the Director or Dietary Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring our residents enjoy a pleasant dining experience. You will assist with the setup, preparation, serving, and cleanup of all meal services.

What You Will Do

• Serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
• Assist in the set up and preparation for service of various items such as beverages, salads, desserts, etc.
• Set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required.
• Assist with cleaning of dishware, and cutlery after each seating as required.
• Assist with maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and dining area as required.
• Assist with catering, and actively participate in special occasions and theme events.
• Assist in the orientation and training of new dietary employees.
• Follow and comply with health and safety legislation and departmental safe job procedures.
• Comply with all provincial regulations and established department policies and procedures.

What You Bring

• Food Handler's Certificate is required.
• Preference will be given to individuals with previous experience in the food service industry and working with seniors.
• Must have or be enrolled in Food Service Worker Training Program.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
• Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand/walk for the majority of shift.
• Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.
• Must be able to provide a current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check, including a Criminal Record Check, or be willing to obtain one.
