Responsibilities
  • Serve food to residents according to individual diets and preferences.
  • Manage portion control of food items.
  • Follow safety precautions, report unsafe incidents or equipment issues, and ensure safety procedures are followed.
  • Operate equipment safely, document temperatures, and follow up as needed.
  • Deliver catering throughout the hospital and handle dishware and waste accordingly.
  • Maintain proper food temperatures and assist in food preparation, cleaning, and storage.
  • Assist with catering setup, including linens, equipment, and customer requests.
  • Adhere to policies on quality assurance, safety, infection control, and sanitation.
  • Participate in meetings and training as required.
Requirements
  • Completion or enrollment in a Food Service Worker Program compliant with Ontario Long-Term Care Homes Act.
  • Food Handlers Certification approved by Public Health.
  • Availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift moderate to heavy loads and stand for long periods.
  • Current Vulnerable Position/Sector Screening (within 6 months).
  • Experience in a kitchen or food service setting.
