Responsibilities
  1. Serve food to residents according to individual diets and preferences.
  2. Manage portion control of food items.
  3. Follow safety precautions, report unsafe incidents, and ensure equipment safety.
  4. Operate equipment safely, including documenting temperatures and follow-up actions.
  5. Deliver catering to hospital locations, including handling dishes for ware washing.
  6. Maintain proper food temperatures and observe serving time limits.
  7. Assist Cooks with food prep, cleaning, and basic food preparation tasks.
  8. Clear plates, load dishwashers, and clean utensils and equipment.
  9. Participate in proper storage, labeling, and documentation of food and supplies, including HACCP procedures.
  10. Set up for catering events and handle customer-specific requests.
  11. Adhere to departmental policies on quality, safety, infection control, and environment.
  12. Assemble nourishment carts and stock kitchenettes.
  13. Participate in meetings and training sessions.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  1. Completion or enrollment in a Food Service Worker Program meeting Ontario LTC Act requirements.
  2. Food Handlers Certification approved by Public Health.
  3. Availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  4. Ability to lift moderate to heavy loads and stand for long periods.
  5. Current Vulnerable Sector Screening within 6 months.
  6. Experience in kitchen or food service setting.
