Job description

It's an exciting opportunity to join Golden Life as we expand our seniors housing, care, and services within western Canada.

We are seeking a qualified Part-time Dietary Aide (FTE 0.50) to join our Garden View Village team in Kimberly, BC. If you are enthusiastic, a team player, and passionate about providing high-quality care and support for seniors, we would love to hear from you!

The successful candidate will have relevant experience and a dedication to senior care.

We are looking for someone who:
  • Portions and serves food and beverages in the dining room, and manages supplies.
  • Loads hot wagons and delivers food to resident neighborhoods.
  • Stocks resident kitchens with items such as paper products, snacks, beverages, and staples.
  • Prepares tables before mealtimes with napkins, placemats, utensils, condiments, and beverages.
  • Prepares beverages and simple food items like tea, coffee, toast, sandwiches, and salads.
  • Assists the Chef with meal portioning and service during special and catered events.
  • Performs cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces and equipment.
  • Handles clerical duties such as answering phones and documenting on menu cards.
The ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications:
  • Experience in customer service, food service, or retail environments.
  • Availability to work weekends and evenings (4 pm - 8:30 pm, Sunday to Thursday).
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
  • FoodSafe Certification (asset).
  • Clear Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector).
  • Negative TB Screening test.
  • Complete Immunization Records as per BC Centre for Disease Control guidelines for healthcare workers.

Compensation: $22.51 per hour, aligned with provincial wage standards.
