Position Overview

Under the supervision of the Site Coordinator or Supervisor - Nutrition and Food Services, Cook 2 or Cook 1, the Dietary Aide assists in preparing, serving, and distributing nutritious meals, following safety and sanitation guidelines, and performing cashier duties. The role requires exercising initiative and judgment in prioritizing tasks, aligning with organizational policies and standards.

Experience & Education

• Six (6) months experience in food handling or healthcare food services.
• Minimum Grade 10 education; knowledge of Microsoft Office and online training.
• Completion of a Dietary Aide certificate; Food Handler Training certification or willingness to obtain within six months.

Qualifications & Skills

• Knowledge of therapeutic diets and sanitary food handling.
• Familiarity with Electronic Menu Management System (if applicable).
• Competency in cash management.
• Ability to respect cultural diversity and proficiency in both official languages for bilingual positions.
• Commitment to confidentiality and a good attendance record.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license, insured vehicle, and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs.) and meet physical and mental demands of the role.
• No hazardous conditions; availability to work evenings and weekends as scheduled.
