Location: Sioux Lookout, ON

Salary Range: $23.794 – $31.959 per hour

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Team Leader, the Dietary Aide is responsible for meeting the dietary needs of the Hostel clients.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Persons of First Nations ancestry will be given preference (s.16 (1)CHRA).
  • Written and oral communication skills acceptable to the employer that meet the requirements of the role of Dietary Aide.
  • Experience in a dietary setting is an asset.
  • Ability to work on your feet all day.
  • Ability to work various shifts.
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs.
  • Must be an independent and self-motivated worker.

Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Follow menu/recipes to meet the daily menu requirements for clients.
  • Clean and maintain the dining area.
  • Restock supplies (Juice, Coffee, water, etc.) before the end of each shift.
  • Work as a team during meal preparation and cleanup.
  • Assist in putting away supplies and monitor stock levels.
  • Perform daily temperature checks on the dishwasher and report issues to the Cook Team Leader.
  • Help prepare snacks and various food items.
  • Follow cleaning schedules, including cleaning dietary areas and equipment, washing dishes, etc.
  • Participate in ongoing staff training, including education sessions, health and safety, policies, procedures, and workshops.
  • Be flexible and adaptable to new requests and ongoing changes as delegated by the Manager.
  • Practice and promote safe work habits, use personal protective equipment, and report unsafe conditions.
  • Sweep and wash floors as necessary.
  • Ensure cleanliness of hot food steam tables.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
