Job summary

The County of Lambton invites applications for two part-time Food Service Worker positions at Marshall Gowland Manor in Sarnia, ON. Wage range is $27.86 to $28.60 per hour, with hours scheduled as needed.

You will provide Elders with nutritious meals, assist with dining room setup and kitchen maintenance, and help ensure adequate food supplies for programs. Minimum education is Grade 10 or completion of a Food Service Worker program; experience in healthcare, restaurant, or hospitality is

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 10.
• Enrolled or completion of Food Service Worker program – College Certificate, OR;
• In lieu of formal education, healthcare, restaurant, or hospitality cooking experience.

Responsibilities

• Set up breakfast of cold cereals, juices, and milk.
• Serve hot meals and beverages to Elders according to special diets.
• Prepare and stock snack carts.
• Change menus if adjustments are needed.
• Clear dirty dishes, wipe tables and reset with cutlery, plates, and glasses.
• Clean and restock fridges and freezers.
• Determine products and food required for Outreach and Meals on Wheels.
• Sort, distribute and store delivered purchases.
• Ensure that all programs have products needed.
• Answer phones, take messages and track orders.
• Incumbents must keep up-to-date on all relevant legislation and County policies.

About the Role

Provide Elders with nutritional meals in a timely manner adhering to each individual dietary regulation. This includes setting and cleaning the dining room and kitchen and ensuring that ample amounts of food are available in the storage room.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Food Service

• Set up breakfast of cold cereals, juices, and milk
• Serve hot meals and beverages to Elders according to special diets
• Prepare and stock snack carts
• Change menus if adjustments are needed

Dining Room Maintenance

• Clear dirty dishes, wipe tables and reset with cutlery, plates, and glasses

Purchase Food and Products

• Determine products and food required for Outreach and Meals on Wheels
• Sort, distribute and store delivered purchases
• Ensure that all programs have products needed

Clerical duties as required

General
