Our Client, currently in the Healthcare Space, is looking for a Dietary Aide in multiple locations across Ontario. This role can be Full Time, Contract, or Part Time.
SUMMARY:
The Dietary Aide supports all aspects of food service to meet the needs of residents, adhering to infection control, quality management, legislative requirements, and organizational standards. As a valued team member, the Dietary Aide demonstrates a commitment to resident safety by providing quality care in line with the organization’s vision and mission.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Setting and clearing tables in dining rooms.
- Maintaining the dietary department in a safe and sanitary manner.
- Assisting the Cook with meal preparation and service.
- Serving meals and beverages to residents using correct utensils and portion sizes.
- Taking meal orders based on resident preferences.
- Transporting dishes between dining rooms and kitchen.
- Cleaning and sanitizing tables, chairs, and equipment.
- Preparing nourishments and carts for service.
- Preparing dietary supplements and thickening fluids for texture-altered diets.
- Labelling and dating food items stored in fridge/freezer.
- Assisting with dishwashing, storage, and cleaning duties.
- Participating in in-services and departmental meetings.
- Recording temperatures and testing results for dish machine and sanitation.
- Supporting tray preparation and reporting resident or equipment concerns.
- Following cleaning schedules and proper food handling techniques.
- Maintaining cleanliness in food preparation and storage areas.
- Assisting with catering, inventory management, and receiving supplies.
- Monitoring food quality and reporting issues.
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensuring food safety and infection control practices are followed.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Meeting scheduled meal and snack times.
- Supporting orientation and training of new staff.
- Participating in department and facility committees as needed.
- Providing high-quality food service and customer service to residents and families.
- Complying with regulations and organizational policies.
- Performing other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current Food Handler’s Certificate.
- Up-to-date certification in the Food Safety Awareness Program.
- Knowledge of proper food service and handling procedures.
- Ability to operate institutional kitchen equipment.
- Effective communication skills in English.
- Ability to read and follow instructions accurately.
EDUCATION:
Completion or enrollment in a Food Service Worker program from a recognized college or private career college in Ontario.
